LABC Signs Economic Agreement With American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam

Jul 30, 2018

The Los Angeles Business Council and the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam announced Monday an alliance designed to promote economic development and green initiatives in Ho Chi Minh City.

The memorandum of understanding between the two organizations focuses on collaboration and information sharing in the areas of solar energy generation, infrastructure development and sustainable investment activities.

“Our two cities have many common interests, including increasing the use of clean energy and reducing reliance on coal-fired power,” LABC President Mary Leslie said. “This new partnership between our two cities will support emerging technologies, companies and energy providers dedicated to a clean energy future.”

The agreement came as a result of a 10-day Asia trade mission aimed at developing trade, economic opportunities and other initiatives. The delegation being led by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has also visited Tokyo, Seoul and Hanoi and will conclude the mission in Hong Kong.
